Electromechanical products are a strong support for China's export economy. With the accelerating pace of industry reshuffling in recent years, domestic electromechanical enterprises, in order to enhance their own strength and expand international markets more rapidly, will accelerate their integration with foreign enterprises through various means to improve product quality and competitiveness. Foreign-funded enterprises, with the increasingly rapid pace of internationalization, are experiencing faster product upgrades and replacements, with new products and technologies constantly emerging, and their strength is growing stronger. However, domestic-oriented enterprises are struggling under the disorderly competition in the domestic market. Some enterprises that are not adaptable to market competition will withdraw from the market through various channels. Therefore, the polarization of electromechanical enterprises will become increasingly severe, and electromechanical giants will gradually emerge.
Although the export growth of electromechanical equipment products is positive, according to a survey of enterprises conducted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronics, enterprise costs are rising, pressure is increasing, and profits are declining. Most enterprises believe that the main factors leading to rising costs since last year are, in order, rising raw material prices, the rapid appreciation of the RMB, and rising labor costs, and the growth rate of all three has exceeded enterprise expectations, especially since the appreciation rate of the RMB this year has been significantly higher than enterprises' predictions; at the same time, export tax rebates and rising interest rates are also important factors affecting the increase in enterprise costs.
With the changes in the international and domestic situations, the development of the country's strategic emerging industries faces great challenges. The engineering machinery industry, as a branch of strategic emerging industries, has developed rapidly in recent years, and the engineering machinery market has become increasingly mature. The fierce competition among electric push-rod enterprises has promoted constant reforms in the industry, but several constraints remain to be overcome. The lack of mastery of core technologies, with many core technologies relying on foreign countries, is currently the biggest bottleneck in the development of China's engineering machinery industry, especially in high-end equipment manufacturing. First, it is necessary to adhere to independent innovation and take the road of maintaining and developing national brands, forging a path of its own in competition with foreign brands.
Electric push-rod cantilever cranes have initially formed a research and manufacturing system for host products, basic technologies, and functional components that are at the forefront of international standards. China's equipment manufacturing industry should focus on industrial optimization and upgrading, transforming from a production-oriented to a service-oriented model, consolidating the industrial foundation, solving the problem of lagging development of basic components, cultivating emerging industries, and improving independent innovation capabilities. The concept of "growing from large to strong" guides the development of China's high-end equipment manufacturing industry. At the same time, only by leveraging cluster effects and brand effects can China's engineering machinery industry forge a unique path to internationalization. This marks that the intellectual property barriers of leading foreign companies in the field of lifting machinery have been gradually overcome by China's independent intellectual property rights. Domestic engineering machinery enterprises have broken the foreign monopoly on 3000t-class crawler cranes, and the successive emergence of domestically produced ultra-large-tonnage crawler cranes has placed China at the forefront of the global lifting machinery industry, marking a new height in China's engineering machinery research and development level.
